About us

Woodworking came to me later in life, but that does not mean I was not surrounded by the craft growing up. My dad was a tinkerer, a self made engineer and an amateur woodworker. Those traits rubbed off on me, but they remained hidden from my mind for almost 35 years. Then, one day I want to make a storage bench to go on my front porch. I went out to buy one and quickly realized that buying a storage bench was outside of my price range. So I fired up YouTube, watched some videos on how to make one and started the project that completely caught me off guard.

Here we are, almost 16 years later and all I think about is what my next project will be.

This is where Chisels and Bits comes into the picture. I want to build a YouTube Channel like the ones that inspired me and taught me the basics. Chisels and Bits is going to be structured in a way, that all skill levels can pick something up. Need to what a router even does? Need to know how to use a router? Need to know how to make angled and uphill climb cuts on figured wood? You have found the right place, because we can touch on ALL of those things.

My goal is to release a video every week on Monday mornings. My second goal is to put out 3 – 4 shorts per week on YouTube highlighting some of the tips and tricks we cover in the videos. All in all, I will organize these videos into playlists so that they can easily be found.

So sit back, relax, grab a cup of your favorite beverage and let’s do some woodworking and have a few laughs along the way.
